DICT donated Information Communication Infrastructure to Benguet Provincial Library
Last June 19, 2017 the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) donated to the Benguet Provincial Library information and communication infrastructure package that consist of 3 units laptop, 1 unit all-in-1 printer, 1 unit CCTV Camera and 1 unit router. This will be utilized by Tech4ED clients free of charge. The donated information and communication infrastructure bridge the mandate of DICT that aims to bridge the digital divide to enhance socio-economic condition providing inclusive growth to the country. Tech4ED Centers is a project of DICT under its eFilipino – Technology for Economic Development Project; under the Tech4ED Project are different segments, which aim to cater to Out-of-School Youth and Adults (OSYA), women, teachers, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) as well as their families and relatives, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, indigenous people, and entrepreneurs as its target market or END-USERS.
Engr. Alicia M. Piacos, PFT LEAD, Benguet PPO, representing DICT, formally handed the said item to the province of Benguet represented by Hon. Crescencio C. Pacalso, Hon. Florence B. Tingbaoen, Hon. Florencio V. Bentres together with Mrs. Leticia I. Bautista, Librarian III, Officer-In-Charge Benguet Provincial Library.
Tech4ED center was established at the Benguet Provincial Library last September 26, 2016. Benguet Provincial Library Tech4ED Center was given certificate of recognition for its commendable performance in achieving the 3rd highest increase in the number of registered Tech4ED platform users among the DICT Luzon Cluster 1 from May 4-31, 2017. As of June 22, 2017 it has 393 in counting registered platform users.
Benguet Provincial Library operates from Mondays to Fridays; 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 PM. Other free services of the Library includes: Free basic tutorial for senior citizens; E-Journals; Library Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC); Library website (www.benguetprovinciallibrary.webs.com) and Library Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Benguet-Provincial-Library). Everyone is invited to visit the library.
